I get it, we’re all busy and getting in that 45min gym session is a stretch as is. What if I told you there is a way you can get more out of your training sessions and you can feel better and possibly even complete your training session pain-free!
Yes, it’s the warm-up it doesn’t have to be overly complicated or time wasting to complete. It should be short, specific and it’s main purpose should be to prime and program your body to train, work and perform at your best.
Majority of my clients either roll out of bed and hit the gym, or roll out of a desk job and hit the gym. I’m guessing you fit into either 1 of these categories? If so next time you turn up to your training session whether it’s in the gym, outdoors or at the pool. Invest 5 minutes into a specific warm-up geared towards that session.
You can do a hybrid of all the techniques such a foam rolling, dynamic stretching with some plyometrics to turn-on your CNS so that you’re ready to get around it. Or if you’re struggling to turn on your glutes or if you can’t brace your core you can add in some activation work and PRI breathing drills.
Be specific and don’t feel as if you need to do a list of 100 warm-up drills before you train. Learn what works for you, keep it short and efficient and get your body and mind ready, you won’t regret it. 🙌🏻🏋🏾♂️💯
